The New Champagne Rooms
Sep. 18th, 2008 12:35 pmLast night, I was lucky enough to be able to enjoy the burlesque show presented at The New Champagne Rooms. I've been wanting to do this for some time now (and I will admit that my main lure has been the lovely Miss Bettye Dugan, but who can blame me?)
My nightclub experience in Second Life till now has been in crowded, crazy clubs, watching folk flail about randomly, often accompanied by less-than-stellar music and too much Voice chatter. Some times that's fun, but more often than not, I end up too annoyed to stay.
But. I am now spoiled for the best, and I'm not sure I'll ever be able to go back. :) As I entered the New Champagne Rooms, I was greeted warmly by Miss Bettye. I had been curious to see her 'working', as we normally hang out on our own, adventuring through SL. She led me into a spacious, tastefully decorated room, and offered me a seat. She even pulled my chair out for me! I could tell immediately that this was going to be a nice evening. When I was settled in, I was offered a drink from the bar. Very soon, other guests began to arrive, and I smiled as they were all greeted and seated and were fully attended to.
The evening was filled with witty banter, charming music from the 1920's, and an amazing show. I won't tell you about the three talented ladies who performed, as I think you'll have a nice time being entertained and amazed. Let's keep their acts as a fun surprise!
I encourage you to slip into some nice evening wear soon and visit the club. It's a great place to take a date - trust me, women are treated as nicely as men here! And if you're single, don't worry. Everyone gets the royal treatment, and you owe yourself a nice evening out, don't you?
